Year of the Metal Rat!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!
We start a new cycle in the Chinese zodiac in 2020.
Positive characteristics of the Rat include being smart, outgoing, cheerful, and sociable in character.  They are able to harvest success on account of their quick response to outside changes. Rats are industrious creatures who can find their way through any maze and they never forget a navigation route once they’ve learned it.
The Rat is the first zodiac animal.

According to myth, the Jade Emperor said the order of the astrological zodiac animals would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party. The quick-witted rat asked the diligent ox to take him on a ride to cross the river and jumped down before the ox crossed the finish line, so the rat won the race and became the first of the zodiac animals.
Tricky? or Savvy?
Perhaps a bit of both. The rat has a bad rep in our culture; “a sneaky low down rat”, a vector
of disease, creepy and oddly powerful in its ability to solicit a large human to jump on a chair and make an audible noise of fear.
Explore the savvy, charming, charismatic aspects of the Rat.
How do we harness all the powers? The fear and the power to invoke fear. The sneaky-tricky aspects and the witty-savvy aspects. It all lives in each of us. Where is your intention and attention?
As we enter a new decade and with 2020 being the year of the Rat and the 1st of the Chinese Zodiac signs, there is a theme of beginnings. There is an opportunity to not just end and start a new chapter but start a whole new book. As you reflect on the last 10 years what would the title of that book be? As you look forward, what would you want the decade of the 20s to be titled in you life? How can we use the positive and shadow side of Rat to inspire us to dig deeper into our own light and dark? What are the stories you tell yourself?  Which ones are keepers and which ones need a rewrite?
I am here to support you in remembering where it is you want to go and supporting you along your journey.
